A Delta flight from Los Angeles to New York ended in arrest for actress Selma Blair after authorities say she became violent onboard, injuring two flight attendants before the situation escalated again after landing at JFK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Blair, 54, was taken into custody following the October 11 flight from LAX to New York\u2019s John F. Kennedy International Airport. Authorities allege she punched one flight attendant and bit another during the flight. One crew member was later taken to a hospital for evaluation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What might otherwise have ended as a disruptive-passenger incident became considerably more serious once the aircraft reached New York. Blair is now facing allegations stemming from incidents both in the air and on the ground, while her attorneys say a medical emergency left her severely confused and disoriented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because the alleged attacks on the flight occurred while the aircraft was airborne, the FBI is involved and the onboard portion of the case falls under federal jurisdiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But authorities say Blair\u2019s behavior did not stop when the plane landed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the criminal complaint, a Port Authority police officer who responded at JFK accused Blair of repeatedly kicking her while officers attempted to place the actress on a stretcher. Blair was then transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where a nurse also alleged that Blair kicked her in the chest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Those accusations led to two counts of second-degree assault in New York, separate from any potential federal case involving the Delta crew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Blair pleaded not guilty during her arraignment in Queens. Bail was set at $20,000 cash or alternative bond conditions, and she was later released. She is due back in court in January 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
