Ce n\u2019est pas un simple coup de pub \u00e9colo, mais une v\u00e9ritable r\u00e9volution dans la fa\u00e7on dont on prot\u00e8ge les sites naturels.<\/p>\n<p>Derri\u00e8re cette d\u00e9cision, il y a bien s\u00fbr une dimension symbolique forte : pour les <strong>Maoris<\/strong>, le mont Taranaki n\u2019est pas juste un joli d\u00e9cor pour les cartes postales. C\u2019est un <strong>anc\u00eatre vivant<\/strong>, un \u00eatre sacr\u00e9 qui m\u00e9rite autant de respect qu\u2019un membre de la famille.<\/p>\n<h2>Mais concr\u00e8tement, \u00e7a change quoi ?<\/h2>\n<p>Ce statut de \u00ab personne \u00bb n\u2019est pas une nouveaut\u00e9 totale en Nouvelle-Z\u00e9lande. Leur r\u00f4le ? <strong>D\u00e9fendre les int\u00e9r\u00eats de la montagne<\/strong>, veiller \u00e0 sa pr\u00e9servation et garantir que son acc\u00e8s respecte les traditions maories.<\/p>\n<p>Autrement dit, si une entreprise d\u00e9cide un jour de construire un \u00e9norme complexe h\u00f4telier sur ses flancs, il ne suffira pas d\u2019un simple permis de construire. Il faudra d\u2019abord passer par cette <strong>nouvelle entit\u00e9 juridique<\/strong>, qui pourra s\u2019opposer aux projets jug\u00e9s nuisibles.<\/p>\n<h2>Un volcan qui ne se laisse pas faire<\/h2>\n<p>Le mont Taranaki, aussi appel\u00e9 <strong>mont Egmont<\/strong> par les colons britanniques, est bien plus qu\u2019un sommet de <strong>2 518 m\u00e8tres<\/strong> coiff\u00e9 de neige. Au XIXe si\u00e8cle, lorsque les colons britanniques ont confisqu\u00e9 les terres maories, Taranaki a \u00e9t\u00e9 arrach\u00e9 \u00e0 son peuple. Pire encore, ses <strong>rites sacr\u00e9s ont \u00e9t\u00e9 interdits<\/strong>, et le site est devenu une simple attraction touristique.<\/p>\n<p>Il aura fallu plus d\u2019un si\u00e8cle de revendications pour que cette injustice soit en partie r\u00e9par\u00e9e. Pour l\u2019instant, l\u2019id\u00e9e peine \u00e0 s\u2019imposer. Mais en 2021, un collectif en <a href=\"https:\/\/discover.ulysse.com\/tresor-corse-village-mer-rencontre-montagnes\">Corse<\/a> a tent\u00e9 de faire reconna\u00eetre des droits au <strong>fleuve Tavignanu<\/strong> afin de bloquer un projet d\u2019enfouissement de d\u00e9chets. Rien d\u2019officiel encore, mais une preuve que cette approche s\u00e9duit de plus en plus d\u2019activistes et d\u2019\u00e9lus.<\/p>\n<h2>Un pas vers une nouvelle relation avec la nature ?<\/h2>\n<p>Avec cette d\u00e9cision, la Nouvelle-Z\u00e9lande envoie un message fort : la nature n\u2019est pas une ressource illimit\u00e9e, et il est temps de la traiter avec respect et consid\u00e9ration.<\/p>\n<p>Bien s\u00fbr, cela ne signifie pas que le mont Taranaki va se r\u00e9veiller un matin et r\u00e9clamer un avocat.
